Fragments of a Dream

”Fragments of a Dream” was a solo show at the venue Ny lille klub with visual artist Silas Wirén. Silas came to us at the venue with his paintings, prints, ceramics and sculptures and with an idea for exhibiting it in the DIY space of Ny lille klub.
Ny lille klub is an old motorcycle workshop and clubhouse that we had refurbished into a venue, doing concerts, talks, exhibitions, parties, and communal dinners. It offered raw DIY aesthetics that proved interesting in curating an art exhibition. We chose to arrange everything very actively and dramatically and play on disruptiveness of the architecture and surroundings by hanging the paintings in the middle of the rooms with theater lighting on them, forcing the audience to move actively around the works to fully experience them.
At the same time we had two inhouse sound designers, Leo Sakharov and Tristan Wielemann, create a soundscape for the exhibition from recordings at the venue activated by the audience movement in the exhibition space.
